Clinical Neuropsychological Evaluations

A neuropsychological evaluation provides in-depth information regarding cognitive, behavioral, and social-emotional functioning to establish a baseline, assist with differential diagnosis, and guide treatment. She helps individuals understand their current functioning while considering different factors that could contribute to their condition (e.g., psychiatric conditions, neurological conditions, medical conditions, medication side effects, psychosocial issues, cultural factors, environmental factors). The right diagnosis takes into account the whole picture which leads to comprehensive recommendations for proper treatment.

People may be referred for a clinical neuropsychological evaluation for various reasons, including suspicion of underlying cognitive issues, monitoring changes due to diagnosed conditions (such as stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, or TBI), assessing the need for increased care, understanding daily functional abilities, and developing strategies to improve areas of weakness.
